We're sorry to see you go. This page explains how to request deletion of your tekDrive account and what happens to your data.

How to Delete Your Account

To request deletion of your tekDrive account, follow these steps:

Contact Your Shop Administrator

If you are an employee or team member, contact your Shop administrator first. They manage user accounts and can remove your access from the tekDrive platform. Your Shop administrator may also need to reassign any open tasks or data associated with your account.

Submit a Deletion Request

Send an email to privacy@tekdrive.net with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include the following information:

  • Your full name
  • The email address associated with your tekDrive account
  • The name of the Shop(s) you are associated with
  • Whether you are a Shop owner/administrator or a team member

Verification

For security purposes, we will verify your identity before processing any deletion request. We may ask you to confirm your request from the email address on file or provide additional verification. This step protects against unauthorized deletion of accounts.

Processing

Once verified, your deletion request will be processed within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email when your account and associated personal data have been deleted.

Before You Delete

Account deletion is permanent. Once processed, the following actions cannot be undone:

  • Your user profile and login credentials will be permanently removed
  • You will lose access to all tekDrive features and data associated with your account
  • Any personal preferences, settings, and saved configurations will be deleted
  • If you are a Shop owner, your entire Shop account and all associated team member accounts may be affected

If you only need to temporarily pause your account or change your subscription, please contact support instead.

What Data Is Deleted

When your account is deleted, we remove:

  • Your user profile information (name, email, phone number)
  • Authentication credentials and login history
  • Personal preferences, settings, and app configurations
  • Profile photos and personal media uploads

Data That May Be Retained

Certain data may be retained after account deletion in accordance with our Data Retention & Lifecycle Policy:

  • Shop operational data: Business records such as repair orders, inspections, and customer communications created during your employment may be retained by the Shop as they are business records, not personal data
  • Backup copies: Residual data may persist in routine system backups for a limited period before being automatically purged
  • Legal and compliance data: Data required to be retained by law, regulation, or legal process
  • Aggregated or anonymized data: De-identified data used for analytics and service improvement

Shop Owner Deletion

If you are a Shop owner or administrator requesting deletion of the entire Shop account:

  • All team member accounts under your Shop will be deactivated
  • All Shop data, including customer records, inspections, media, and communications, will be scheduled for deletion
  • Active integrations (Tekmetric, Slack, etc.) will be disconnected
  • Any active Subscription will be canceled

We recommend exporting any data you wish to keep before submitting a Shop-level deletion request. Contact support@tekdrive.net for assistance with data export.

iOS App Users

If you use the tekDrive iOS app, deleting the app from your device does not delete your account. To fully delete your account and associated data, you must follow the steps above.

After your account is deleted:

  • The app will no longer be able to log in with your credentials
  • Any locally cached data on your device will become inaccessible
  • Push notifications will stop being delivered

You may uninstall the app from your device at any time via your device settings.
